Rachael is an award-winning curator, with particular experience in inclusive heritage and in bringing contemporary creative and community voices into heritage spaces.
Rachael founded and led the curation of inclusive national public programming at the National Trust from 2016 to 2021. As National Specialist for Inclusive Histories, Rachael curated series of exhibitions, contemporary commissions, events, community activities, publications, podcasts and cutting-edge research.
In 2017, Rachael curated Prejudice and Power, an exploration of LGBTQ+ histories across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
In 2018, Rachael led Women and Power, a feminist examination of the heritage of the National Trust, in response to a centenary of women’s right to vote.
Rachael is now a trustee of Beamish Museum and Redhills Miners Hall in Durham, where she is expanding her passion for intersectional curatorial practice and harnessing heritage as an active force for social justice today.
