Rachael is a curator and writer - she tells stories from the past that help fight inequity today.

Rachael is Co-Founder and Chair of the Queer Heritage and Collections Network, an award-winning network that provides training, guidance and support to museums and heritage organisations working with LGBTQ+ collections across the UK.

She is Co-Director of the Centre for Heritage at Newcastle University where she leads creative cultural and academic partnerships and is a Trustee of Beamish Museum and Redhills Miner’s Hall in Durham, North East England, where she lives with her wife and children.

Rachael has recently featured in a number of publications, including the Guardian, Big Issue and Diva Magazine and has broadcast experience across platforms that include BBC’s Woman’s Hour and BBC’s World Service and Phillipa Gregory’s Normal Women podcast.

As founder of the National Trust’s inclusive histories programme, Rachael curated major series of exhibitions, events, community activities and artist commissions across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. In 2018, Rachael won a prestigious Pink News Award for LGBTQ+ equity.
